Based In New York City, High Jinx is a blog dedicated to making consumption fun. With the recent legalization of Cannabis in New York State, there are entire communities of people who are being introduced to a world of information. Through interactive blogs and online discussions, Cannabis can be introduced to generations of people who once believed the plant was an evil drug, and now are open to a world of information.

High Jinx is run by Joshua Valenzuela, a legacy user born and raised in New York City.

“I’ve been exposed to Cannabis in several capacities since my early teens. Despite popular belief, I still went on to graduate College and all that jazz. However, many family members of mine still believe I’m ‘giving in to vice and am ruining [my] life’, which is not the case. Having been surrounded by Cannabis from a young age, I’ve seen the negative legislative effects, leading to personal damage caused more by an incarcerated family member than a family member given to ‘vice’ because of Cannabis. Through open discussions with my family, I’ve learned ways to navigate a conversation that eventually evolves into one about the bigger picture of drug legislation.”

Taking these personal moments and developing them into tangible resources for the community, High Jinx works to reconnect Cannabis to a once-reliant world now re-discovering their relationship. Through educational material, online discussion, and recipes, High Jinx aims to educate the smoker-curious population with reputable, up-to-date information.
